Opponents win Brunswick County landfill battleThe Brunswick County Planning Board has denied the county’s request to expand its construction and demolition landfill. On Thursday night, the seven-member board voted to deny the county’s special exception, said Bobby Long, a board member who was the acting chair. Only two members voted to grant the permit, and five voted against it, Long said.
